Nov. 20 Center Scene Event: 'Social Media, Social Justice'

Earlier this month, we witnessed the immense impact of effective community organizing. Activists built relationships on the ground and online and, for the first time in a presidential campaign, truly harnessed the power of social media to build a social movement.

In this Nov. 20 public program "Social Justice, Social Media," experts in civic engagement (Allen Gunn, executive director, Aspiration; Jessy Tolkan, director, Energy Action Coalition; and Chris Rabb, Afro-Netizen) share how any organization or campaign can use those same strategies to support its social justice work and build healthy communities. The panel begins at 5:30 p.m. and will be moderated by
Sloane Berrent, director of Business Development, CausecastThere will a networking coffee reception following the program.

Building Healthy Communities: Strategic Vision Web Site Online

In 2010, The California Endowment will embark on a new, 10-year strategic direction: Building Healthy Communities. Our goal is to support the development of communities where kids and youth are healthy, safe and ready to learn. We have created a special Web site to answer questions about The Endowment and changes in its programmatic direction.
